Description

North Carolina State Jacket, by B. Schade

North Carolina maintained a private depot in Richmond where State troops were issued clothing from. During the spring/summer of 1862, this jacket (called the 2nd pattern) was issued to North Carolina soldiers until the end of the war. Hand made and cut from classic lines of the period, this shell jacket is made of Ben Tart's drab jean wool and features a cotton lining body, cotton print sleeves, copper buttons, and two interior pockets. All exposed stitching on the exterior and interior is hand sewn with only hidden machine stitching. B. Schade fastidiously produced this shell jacket only to the exacting standards of historical examples. Made in Gettysburg, PA.
