Original M1809 Belgian Musket, .69cal Rifled
This Belgian musket was converted from flintlock to percussion sometime in the 1850s (see butt plate stamps). The weapon maker is completely unknown (possibly a Potsdam), but the conversion was by Belgium. This is truly a one-of-a-kind find! The barrel was constructed in two pieces, and lifts smoothly from the tang (the barrel interlocks with the tang). Stamps from the conversion are clean and crisp.
