Private Weller's Overcoat, Size 38, by C.J. Daley
During the winter of 1861-1862, the 2nd Kentucky was furnished with hooded overcoats, privately purchased for the regiment by Maj. James W. Hewitt. These overcoats came in handy at Fort Donelson, where Pvt. Weller reportedly wore his coat (although the wounds he suffered at the Fort are not indicated on the original coat).
