A wide gusset on this haversack provides a very spacious interior. It also features a handy flask pouch to accommodate a small liquor flask. Inside the front flap is a large document pocket with strap and roller buckle.
The front of the bag has a large shield shaped pocket sewn to the front flap. A roller buckle and keeper closes the entire bag. Long, removable and adjustable, shoulder strap has brass swivel hooks and dee rings. A leather shoulder pad is included on the strap.
The bag measures 12" wide, 9½" tall with a 4" wide gusset. Includes a removable cotton bread bag. Black Only.

Sabretasche Haversack

From the German Sabel, a saber, and Tasche, a pocket. The sabretasche, is a large leather pouch. It was used by cavalry or staff officers to carry maps and papers.
The cowhide sabretasche measures 9" wide at the bottom, 10" tall with a 2½" gusset. Button stud brass hardware holds removable shoulder strap to bag. Adjustable long strap with roller buckle, as on the originals. Decorative white stitching around edges of front flap and shoulder strap.

Confederate Officer Haversack

This haversack is a reproduction of an original owned by Lt. William A.B. Branch, ANV. It is distinguishable by it's half moon flap which is lined with red kidskin.
Features solid brass half moon buckles and inside pocket. Measures 13½" wide by 9½" tall with a 2½" gusset. Similar haversacks also made by private contractors, were carried by Union officers. One is on display at the Civil War Museum & Library in Philadelphia, PA.

Top Grain Cowhide Large Saddlebags

A whole lot of leather makes our saddlebags large and roomy.
Two large bags 12" wide, 9" tall, with an extra wide 4½" gusset in the bottom, provide plenty of room to hold larger items. The military style scalloped front flap has a buckle closure. Sewn to the back panel of each bag is a pocket for storing smaller items. Two, 30" blanket straps are included and can be easily removed when not needed.
