CONFEDERATE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT ISSUE
SHELL JACKETS: By early 1862, the
Confederate Quartermaster Department was
beginning to issue substantial quantities
of uniforms to the various Armies through
the "Depot" system. |
| RICHMOND DEPOT JACKETS
(Eastern Theater), often called the Army
of Northern Virginia Style. Common
features of the Richmond Depot styles are
a 6-piece body, 2-piece sleeves, and a
9-button front. Bottom of jacket front
has rounded edge, is lined
with cotton and has an inside left breast
pocket. These are special order clothing
items, please allow 4 to 6 six weeks
delivery time. |
CONFEDERATE OFFICERS FROCK
COAT - This double breasted frock coat
was worn by most Confederate officers. An
officer's rank was distinguished by
the number of rows of sleeve braid and
different collar insignia. The price
listed below includes gold sleeve rank
braid and collar insignia. The coat is
lined and has an inside
left breast pocket. Flap style pockets in
the folds of the skirt are in-cluded. The
coat has the branch of service colors on
the collar and cuff facings. All frock coats have a raw
bottom edge as per originals. Per
regulations, the coat has 14 equally
spaced large buttons on the front ,
except for Generals, who have the buttons
spaced in four sets of twos. Sleeves have
non-functional cuffs with 3 small buttons
per cuff. Please specify rank and branch
of service color: Buff = General, staff and
engineer. Black = Medical. Red = Artillery.
Yellow = Cavalry. Light Blue = Infantry.

| GREATCOATS: Over his uniform
during the cold months, Union soldiers
were issued a greatcoat whereas Johnny
Reb usually captured his. This coat is
made of heavy weight wool and half lined
(body section) with heavy muslin. Cuffs
turned down. Split back seam and two
piece belt in back. |
