1863 Springfield Rifle Musket: Type I

This reproduction features a one-piece European walnut fullstock with satin finish, 52 3/4" long with 2 3/4" drop and 13 1/2" trigger pull. Lockplate is marked "1863" on tail and "U.S. Springfield" just ahead of hammer. Barrel marked "1863" on top at breech "VP" w/ eagle stamped on bolster. Single trigger, three barrel bands - split dual type , sling swivels. Steel ramrod with 10x32 male thread. Load with 60 grains FFg black powder and .570 patched round ball or .575 minie ball.
