21st Ga. Fife & Drum Corps, "Notes from the Field"

The 21st Georgia Musicians Corps' extensive history dates back to the late 1980s. From the 21st Georgia's humble beginning with only three members, the Musicians Corps has now grown to become one of the most recognized reenacting Corps. Representing a Confederate Musicians Corps, the group is made up of members from New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, Ohio, North and South Carolina.

Primarily field musicians, the 21st Ga. participates in Civil War reenactments up and down the East Coast and plays songs and signals in camp and on the battlefield. Throughout our 30-year history, we have had the honor of playing at countless parades, living histories and reenactments., and at venues such as Antietam National Battlefield, Gettysburg National Military Park, the American Civil War Museum in Richmond, Va., and most recently, at the annual Drummers Call at Colonial Williamsburg. Throughout this distinguished history, many members have come through the ranks of the 21st Georgia and we are pleased to dedicate this recording to all members past and present.
